In early January, the Daily Herald e-mailed me their questionnaire. Here are their questions and my answers. Endorsements: I have reached out to all
the Republican Committeemen in the City of Chicago and Suburban Cook. I have the
endorsement from Tony Peraica, the Lyons Township Committeemen. A good number of
the Republican Committeemen in DuPage County worked with me to gather signatures
for my petition, so I feel I have their support. Elected Offices Held: I am an average citizen who
wants to save America as we know it. Have you ever been arrested for or convicted of a crime? If yes, please explain. Back when I was 'Coffee
Dan' and the IC Train Station on East South Water Street was my first stop, the
Chicago Police took me in to 11th and State. It seem that some Police Sergeant
had a friend that was opening a coffee shop in the train station and they wanted
me removed. I forget the charge, but I was held in a cell until my brother
showed up with $100.00. When I went to court, no police officers showed up and
all charges were dropped. This was just a little message for me as an average
businessman in Chicago........... What is your Number 1 campaign issue? The current Congressman in
the 5th District voted to steal 500 billion dollars from Medicare. 500 BILLION
DOLLARS. Maybe this Congressman is forgetful, but this Medicare fund was
established in 1964 and millions of American have paid into this fund from their
weekly paychecks. This fund is the health insurance for millions of American
when the reach the age of 65. With the stroke of a pen and the vote from a
runaway Congress, this money was stolen.......I WILL WORK TO RECOVER THIS
MONEY.... What is your Number 2 campaign issue? Our very liberty is under
attack from President Obama and Congressman Quigley. The out-of-control spending
is going to destroy America as we know it. The Federal Budget needs to be cut by
10% across the board. Each and every Department must be cut by 10%. The congress
must take responsibility for the budget. They must debate and pass an annual
budget. Automatic increases in the budget must be ended. All spending comes from
the House, and I will make it my responsibility that federal spending is reduced
and justified. What is your Number 3 campaign issue? America is GREAT because
the American people are GREAT. I have been lucky to travel America from north to
south, from east to west. This is a great country and it is worth fighting for.
The Congressman in the 5th Congressional District is way out there in left
field. He is out of touch. He is another empty suit taking up space in Congress.
I at least know how to build things, to repair things. We need to send a
mechanic to Washington to fix the broken ship of state.............. What would you do to help ease partisan gridlock?
Are you willing to compromise on sticking points including spending cuts and
taxes to produce results? How can Congress move from being a
"crisis-driven" institution? We can only pray at this
point that the Republican will gain control of the Senate and the Presidency.
This President and his allies in the Congress are taking America in the wrong
direction. When President Obama shut down the Yucca Mountain Nuclear Waste
Repository during his first few months in office, this told me that he was
against 'clean nuclear energy'. Now that he has stopped the pipeline project to
bring Canadian oil to Texas, this tells me that he wants to break the backs of
the average American worker. Higher gasoline prices, higher Metra rail prices,
higher tolls in Illinois, just when will it end. I understand how things work
and I will fight to roll back some of these increases. Should tax breaks be extended? Why or why not?
If so, for whom? What should Congress do to improve unemployment? Why do you
support or oppose President Obama's jobs plan? What cuts or revenue increases do
you support for deficit reduction? President
Obama has no jobs plan. President Obama's Social Security tax break is evil.
Short-fall in the system are coming up right now. Income taxes should be cut to
28% for the top level. The last time the top rate was at 28%, the economy grew
in a straight line up until 2004. The greatest growth in production in America's
history. Let see, just who was the President in 1984? Oh, yes, it was Ronald
Reagan. What steps should the country now be taking in the
war on terrorism? What policy should the U.S. have toward Iran and North Korea?
What is your view of terrorism policies that pit public safety against civil
liberty? We
should never get involved in a politically correct war again. The biggest
mistakes to be learned by being involved with Iraq and Afghanistan is that these
people do not want to join the 21st century. The minute we pull out, they return
to their tribal ways. This is crazy. When we beat the Japanese, we changed their
lifestyles, the beliefs, the government. This was great for the Japanese people.
After we beat Germany, we made the common citizens do the clean-up. They had to
clean-up the concentration camps, remove the dead bodies. They had to rebuild
the buildings. But in the long run and it did take until about 1952 before most
of the resistance quieted down. You can see that the approached has made the
German people more civilized. We won the Korean war and the South Koreans are
much better off. But in Vietnam, we allowed the Democrats in Congress to lose
that conflict in 1975. We did not stand with our South Vietnam allies. NO MORE
POLITICALLY CORRECT WARS. How should Medicare and Medicaid be changed overall
to fix fund gaps? How should Medicare be changed for those currently enrolled?
How should it change for the Baby Boomer generation? If
ObamaCare is allowed to stay, these questions have no meaning. ObamaCare stole
500 Billion Dollars from Medicare. ObmaCare will lead to government run health
care. Now, you have to ask yourself, just what do you own? Do you own your life?
Are you responsible for your health? Just who do you think in this or any
government has your best interest at heart? Please do not kid yourself. Do you
think that someone that worked for the tollway last year, or worked in the
Secretary of States office, really cares about your health? OBAMACARE is
madness.... But, we have to remember that there is an exemption in OBAMACARE for
religious groups. They think this applies to the Amish, or Christian Scientist
or Muslims. I think maybe it is time for the Catholics to join the Jews and the
Lutherans and the Presbyterians, we should take back all the hospitals that we
have built and exempt ourselves from ObamaCare. Let's see, did I see a report
that 80% of all hospitals in the world were built by the Roman Catholics? What is your position on concealed carry gun laws?
How do you believe marriage should be defined legally? What is your position on
abortion? What, if any, abortion exceptions do you support? Should abortion
clinics receive government funding? Now that Illinois is the
only state without concealed carry laws, I believe it is time for the citizens
in Illinois to join the rest of the states. Just tell me why a law-abiding
citizen should not have the right to own guns and carry them if they want to.
Marriago is one man and one woman. Abortion is wrong. Abortion clinic should not
